For the OSTEN Festival, my colleague Aljoscha Begrich and I curated a series of excursions in and around Bitterfeld-Wolfen. Each tour was guided by a tandem of local residents and artists familiar with the region. Some of these field trips led into the vast industrial complex of the Bitterfeld Chemical Park, others into a nature reserve, and yet others to a youth club in Wolfen-Nord run by volunteers.
